Difference between AISI 304 stainless steel and AISI 316 stainless steel
To select high-quality raw material is fundamental for Frabo. For its stainless steel press fittings (FRABOPRESS 316 SECURFRABO, FRABOPRESS 316 GAS e FRABOPRESS 316 BIG-SIZE ranges) Frabo chooses to use AISI 316 stainless steel, in particular, AISI 316L variation. Let’s discover the difference between AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel.
Stainless steels are metal alloys, which are naturally corrosion resistant. AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steels are very common in the production of fittings.
Even if esthetically identical, these two kinds of steels distinguish for chemical composition: AISI 316 stainless steel has molybdenum and a higher quantity of nickel.

These two elements make the 316 one particularly corrosion resistant even in very aggressive environments (polluted areas, marine areas…). To meet every need, even in extreme conditions, Frabo uses AISI 316L for all its stainless steel press fittings.
